January Drawing Challenge #25-29

Sorry I've been lame about posting these. Almost done with January though-I can't believe it! Monday's drawing did exist, but my mom threw the drawing out :/ My fault for drawing on a scrap piece of paper I guess.

January Drawing Challenge #11-OMG 100th post

100th post...too bad that the drawings in this are so unmonumental. :/ Oh wellz.
1st one is of my cat Woody sleeping which I drew last night
2nd is a memory sketch of something I saw while driving...I botched the guy the first time I tried, but I liked the dog so I just redrew the guy and sloppily used the magic of photoshop to blend the two together. It kinda worked.

January Drawing Challenge #10

Pipes. Not all that super exciting but they were surprisingly fun to draw.

January Drawing Challenge #9

Tried drawing part of a coffee roaster. Mechanical objects are not my strength in any sort of way, but this was good practice nonetheless.

January Drawing Challenge #8

Drawn at the Kite Flying Festival at Lake Harriet today. Super quick drawings because it was SOOOO cold out(which I actually think helped these drawings). Day 8, DONE!

Stayed the night at a friend's house, I drew her very cute dog Pepper

While driving back, I saw this awesome Caribou Coffee shop in Redwing that is in an old train station building. Stopped both for breakfast and to draw. I was on the 2nd level looking down-the stair part is kind of wonk.

January Drawing Challenge #2

Just a spot by my computer-a bit boring but I wanted to life draw from my computer and the cat thing by my desk was calling to be drawn. Unfinished because I lost interest after I drew the cat-probably because that was the only thing I wanted to draw in the first place. Oh wellz-main point is that I drew something from life and I didn't fail this challenge second day in. Here's to tomorrow!

Lifedrawing-Family, Cats and Coffee

Ready for it-here are a butt load of life drawings I've done in the past week. I am quite pleased with how well all of these came out.

Cats(My cousin's cats):

Family:
My cousins Jacky and Josh playing Donkey Kong Returns. It was fun watching them play this game-memories of when I was younger watching them playing Donkey Kong 64. Plus they totally rock at the game.
My sister holding my cousin's 2-week old baby, Lucia.
Above and the next few drawings are of my Grandma. This was the first year she was unable to come to my aunt's house for Christmas-she's been battling Alzheimer's for the past 5+ years and she can no longer really move her body anymore. I've been making a point to draw her whenever I see her the past few years which has been an honor and blessing to do( and I do not mean that lightly).

Coffee:

Woody and Eddie

The cats like to hang around whoever is up late at night(which is always me), so I put one of the dog beds by my computer so they'd have somewhere comfy to hang with me that wasn't my lap/shoulders(cause it makes it difficult to work). Anyways, while animating tonight, I glanced over my shoulder and they were both sleeping in the dog bed...how could I not take a break to draw that?

Drawn in Photoshop CS5, 5 min

Prague Life Drawing

I promise less boring things than life drawing for the next few posts, but here's just a small bit of the life drawing I did out there. Though I'm showing more of the landscape drawings/watercolors, I did way more people drawing out here but I know that's kind of boring to look at...I just upload it because I enjoy doing it so much.

And a note for the watercolors and landscape stuff...all mostly very simplified/rushed cause I had to stop when my family wanted to leave. Oh gawd, sounds like I'm making excuses for myself...no I'm not going for that.

Also, Prague was awesome. And it sparked something in me that's been dead(or at least dormant) artistically speaking.

Okay, enough rambling, now let's go...drawings!

The ones on the right are memory drawings. Bottom left drawing is me(saw myself in a reflection).

Courtyard of Prague Castle
Part of a Starbucks.
Simplified Karlstejn Castle
From the Tereizin Ghetto(specifically, right across the museum)

Zoo Drawings....Again

I know, I know, I post these a lot.

Sparky the Seal @ The Como Zoo. Sea lions are one of my favorites to draw but always prove to be one of the more difficult animals to draw because they are constantly in motion, they just love swimming!

Lesser Kudu. Another favorite of mine to draw at Como.

Spring Break Drawings

Wow two posts from in a day, no way! That's what happens when I'm on spring break and actually have time to draw. Here's some drawings from Spring Break itself:

And here's a preview to a new character I'm working on that fits in with my aardvark character. You'll be seeing him a bit more soon.
